Metro in Delhi can prove to be very interesting because of the million kinds of people you encounter while travelling. People on social media often share their experience of the metro, something that they found fascinating or gripping. This is exactly what happened with Delhi-based woman Ritikia Dahiya who was travelling on metro and witnessed a couple of saree-clad women singing and dancing without caring who’s watching.
In a Facebook post, Dahiya wrote that her ride had never been so much fun as on that day. According to her post, the women were from a village in Haryana and were in fact, returning from a funeral of one of the daughter’s mother-in-law. They were dancing to celebrate the long life of the person who passed away. It’s interesting how the beautiful bunch of women included a “dadi” too.
Believe it or not, the dance went on for over 30 minutes and no one said a word against it. Not even the officials, wrote Dahiya. Later after de-boarding, they danced their way through the stairs as well.
The video has gone viral on social media with over 1,000 shares and 500,000 views. Here’s what Dahiya wrote.
Never knew Delhi metro rides can be so much fun, with Dadi’s pole dance, and her troop of grooving ladies! With live music from the bylanes of Haryana villages!
To give you some background, this group of ladies were on their way back from the funeral of one of the daughter’s mother-in-law. Before you think further, let me tell you, they were celebrating her long lived happy life and peaceful demise.
Cheers to that happy spiritedness!
P.S. My cheeks still ache from the laughter, and the constant super-wide smile!!
