Indigenous cable TV ads have always managed to entertain Pakistanis, and the business has made one man into a superstar. Waseem Hassan Sheikh is a Pakistani writer-producer-director who is famous for ads that go viral, every single time. Sheik has taken the art of making cable TV ads to a new height. And owing to his popularity and reputation of going viral, he has also successfully acquired clients from every part of his state. His expertise as a businessman and as an artist for creating catchy and witty ads is acknowledged every time his ads create a buzz; not just in his country, but also across borders.
Though these ads are not made brilliantly in terms of technique and appearance, the unpredictability of what exactly the ad could represent always does the trick. One may be baffled when they realise for what product the ad was produced.
With amateur artists, weird expressions and costumes being part of almost every video, these ads will surely make one laugh no matter what.
The latest being the ad for a restaurant. While dancing along to the tunes of a popular song from Shah Rukh Khan’s DDLJ – Mehendi laga ke rakhna — this has to be the funniest version parody ever!
Sheikh along with fellow dancers tried to recreate SRK-Kajol’s magic, have certainly connected to the Indian audiences at an emotional level. The video ad is about a eatery — Kozi Haleem, which offers more than just haleem, from golgappa to biryani.
Well, we cannot comment on the haleem, but you can watch the video and decide how you feel about it.
On his Facebook page Sheikh also shared behind-the-scene pictures with his fans, and we can say people are going gaga over it.
