As the film and television fraternity come together to mourn the suicide of Balika Vadhu actor Pratyusha Banerjee, there have been two reactions that have caused people to raise their eyebrows. Veteran actor Hema Malini’s tweet has been called out as being insensitive, while actor Rakhi Sawant had a rather strange request for PM Narendra Modi: Ban ceiling fans.

In a press conference in Mumbai, Sawant urged people to ban ceiling fans and use table fans and ACs instead. The actor even brought a ceiling fan with her to add force to her unusual demand. “Banning ceiling fans is more important than chanting ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ because many daughters and daughters-in-law are committing,” said Sawant.

It didn’t take long for social media platforms to turn into buzzing bees, reacting to Sawant’s comments taking to humour to express their outrage. Here are a few of those reactions.
