These days, thanks to social media and the concept of viral videos, a lot of people are making unique videos and sharing them on Facebook and Twitter as their quick way to fame. Especially covers of famous songs. On Indian Internet, you’ll find a million desi, classical, instrumental, covers of popular songs created by people so much so that it seems to have become a benchmark for how famous the song is.

On a random day on Twitter, comedian and All India Bakchod co-founder Tanmay Bhat asked his followers if The Chainsmokers’ record-breaking song ‘Closer’ is famous if there’s no ‘desi classical’ version of the same. Being Tanmay, we doubt he meant what he said and was probably just taking a jibe at the classical versions that come out of hit songs.

“Is the ChainSmokers’ Closer even a hit song if there hasn’t been a desi classical version of the same?” he tweeted.

And guess who responded? Badshah!

The singer and rapper actually found a Hindi version of the song and shared on Twitter. And believe it or not, the song’s titled ‘Hum Kabhi Na Honge Buddhe’ (We are never getting older). Badshah found a proof!

But no, Tanmay is not satisfied and still on a hunt even after someone shared a Tabla version by Internet star Shobhit Banwait.

But the Hindi version of the song has indeed taken it to a different level. And if you do find a ‘desi classical’ version of the song, please share!
