At the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday sought to lash out at India, saying Pakistan itself is a victim of terrorism and that Burhan Wani, the Hizbul commander, was a young leader ‘murdered’ by Indian forces.
“My country has been the principal victim of terrorism including that supported, sponsored, financed from abroad” and “Burhan Wani, the young leader murdered by Indian forces has emerged as a symbol of latest Kashmiri ‘Intifada'”. These two statements, made by Nawaz Sharif, is fuelling social media today.
At the UNGA debate, India decided to give a fitting reply to the false accusations made by Sharif and made its stand on the issue very clear. Besides India’s statement at the UN, which you can read here, Minister of State External Affairs MJ Akbar said that Pakistan is a terror state and that Burhan Wani was a Hizbul commander which is widely acknowledged as a terror group, including the UN. “It is shocking that a leader of a nation can glorify a self-advertised terrorist at such a forum. This is self incrimination by Pakistan PM,” said Akbar.
Not only did Akbar share his views, MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup said the neighbouring country doesn’t want to engage in a dialogue.

After giving that funny speech at #UNGA, Nawaz Sharif was seen asking people for money…so that he can buy a return ticket to Pakistan.

That Awkward Moment when Nawaz Sharif sympathised with Terrorist Burhan Wani at UN, in a speech which was supposed to be anti-Terrorism.
