When an Army jawan gave a ‘Modi bhakt’ a stinging lesson on what soldiers do for country

'What about the army officers who stand for long hours everyday to protect our borders,' asked a man to an army officer in an ATM queue.

Queues in front of banks and ATMs are far from receding even three weeks after the government announced the move to demonetise old Rs 500, Rs 1000 currency notes. There are rampant public complaints about the mismanaged implementation of demonetisation. Meanwhile, a common remark that a lot of people are increasingly using is how our soldiers in the army stand for long hours everyday to protect the borders, while we make a deal of standing for a little longer in queues. From what it seems, somebody happened to say that to another person in an ATM queue, but little did he know that he was talking to an army veteran himself!

Darshan Dhillon, who served in the army for 20 years and was there to withdraw his pension, gave it right back to the man, as he mentioned in a Facebook post.

This was his reply.

“I was standing in long ATM Q and getting irritated on mismanagement on a good issue. The fellow Modi bhakt behind gave me a quick reaction by saying, why are you perturbed think about about army persons standing 20 hrs in day on border.
My curt reply removed his deshbhagti with a jolt when I told him that I did that on border for 20 years and standing here to withdraw my pension on that account. He should show his deshbhagti in getting us actual OROP and CPC from Modi ji rather than issuing certificates in ATM lines.
Fauji Baba”

This is his Facebook post.

Mr Dhillon, everyone has their vested interest, OROP and CPC are your own. Do not come up with a big issue to compare with other. As a soldier you hold a great position in front of common people and you should be selective while speaking. Atleast without any political party influence, you should understand the greater cause of currency ban and make people aware of its significance rather than cribbing on your own issues.lt;br/gt;And if still you feel fighting against corruption , black money etc is not your cup of tea; then before asking for OROP, you need not to stand in lines of common men ATMs and should demand an ATM installed at your premise.

The Govt trots out the 'soldier' line to keep everybody's mouth shut. But they treat those same soldiers like dirt when it comes to giving them the facilities they need during their service and their pensions(OROP) after retirement.

I know it is painful for him for standing in a queue for getting his own money but just think in a different way, because of such a harsh action it may be possible that every payment option will get digital and Atleast in future no army officer has to stand in ATM to withdraw cash .As everything will go white earning of government will also increase if government has enough wealth they will definitely use it for the welfare of our army officer.
