20+ Uber drivers BEAT UP this Bengaluru man for demanding SEAT BELTS; Twitterati get furious

A 48-year-old Bengaluru man Dave Banerjee shared his plight when he was beaten by more than 20 Uber driver after he asked for seat belts. His tweet has gone viral, and many Twitter users came in support of him.

Cab drivers have often been in the negative light with many harrowing posts from customers in the past. However, a recent incident that took place in Bengaluru might totally shake your faith from cab services. Dave Banerjee, 48, booked an Uber at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport. All he asked for was a seat belt in his cab, but he claims he was physically assaulted by a large mob of Uber drivers for doing so.

Sharing the traumatic tale on Twitter, Banerjee said that a mob of more than 20 Uber drivers at Bangalore airport harrassed him just for demanding “seat belts” in his cab. According to Banerjee, when he contacted the Uber SOS they said, “We can’t help, call the police”. He also shared many pictures of his bruises on the micro-blogging site. Soon after, Uber India Support replied from their official handle saying that their team is trying to reach out for help. Check out his tweet here.

Here are the pictures that Banerjee posted in which the bruises are quite vivid. Twitterati came out in total support of him after looking at the pictures and few of them also shared their stories of inconvenience due to Uber services. Read some reactions here.

 

Uber India replied to a few of these complainers and clarified their stand. IndianExpress.com has tried to contact Dave Banerjee and Uber India Support Group and is awaiting their reply.
