What would you do if, while walking on the beach, you find the most dreamt-of belongings in the world, a message in a bottle?
Steve Mershon, 54-year-old resident of Indialantic, Florida, was walking on the beach on the morning of April 19, when he found a bottle and in it, a message. What was written forced him to share it with the world.
The message, written by a fifth grader called Jonathan to his best friend Daniel, who had passed away, was locked in the bottle and thrown in the sea.
“I’m really sorry that you pass away. And if you were alive me and you will be playing football, soccer and basketball with Mathew, Oscar and Brandon. You were my best friend,” read the note.
Mershon couldn’t stop himself to write a message to Jonothan on his Facebook page in the hope that it might reach him. “Jonothan, your bottle, with your letter to your best friend, is the most beautiful thing I have ever found,” he wrote.
Mershon decided to not keep the bottle in his collection but put a message in it and throw it back into the sea.
