Before the startling results of the US presidential elections, we saw several instances where the Republican candidate Donald Trump inspired many creations – Trump sandwiches, Trumpkins, Trump toilet papers, to even urinals! But this time, there is no man-made inspiration that’s creating a buzz on the Internet; in fact, it’s an avian creature that captured the social media fancy.
Yes, a bird at China’s Hangzhou Safari Park in Zhejiang province has suddenly risen to fame after people noticed a striking similarity between the President-elect and a five-year-old male winged wonder, Little Red. With golden ‘crown’ (read hair) a red pheasant has become a star in China as people think he has the same hairstyle as Donald Trump.
According to a report by Daily Mail, UK, pictures of the animal was widely shared on Chinese media after a journalist from Hangzhou took a picture of the male bird and pointed out the ‘striking similarity’ between him and Trump.
The report added that Gao, the bird-keeper, was surprised to hear the news. However, he has begun to notice the resemblance between the two and can’t disagree anymore.
“According to Mr Gao, pheasants have thicker and brighter feathers in winter because they bring insulation, and that is why ‘Little Red’ has such golden feathers on his head at this time of the year,” the report added.
The popularity of the bird has been drawing more crowds than ever. According to local reports, the bird has become famous and many tourists have been flocking at the zoo enclosure to see the ‘Trumpbird’.
The pheasants are indigenous to the mountains of central China and are very extremely exotic. The multi-coloured bird with golden crest and vibrant red body has an elongated tail.
The zoo enclosure has around 50 Chinese pheasants but the popularity of Little Red is exceptional. Mashable reported that one user on Weibo asked: “So does this bird look like Trump, or does Trump look like a Chinese pheasant?” while other said: “Come on, this bird is more handsome than Trump.”
We leave it for you to decide who looks better.
