Ellen DeGeneres gets slammed for ‘sexist’ birthday wish to Katy Perry

TV host and comedian Ellen DeGeneres recent post wishing singer Katy Perry on her birthday has been flagged by her fans and other Twitterati. They slammed her for being sexist and having double standards.

American comedian and TV host Ellen DeGeneres is definitely one of the funniest female comedians around the world. She is known not only for her sense of humour and wit, but also for being generous and kind. Moreover, she is adored not only for her work on screen but also her exceptional contribution as a member of LGBT community, for which she was honoured with the the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

However, her recent birthday wish tweet for singer Katy Perry has landed her in a soup with her fans. The tweet included a previous picture of the DeGeneres, her wife Portia and Perry where the comedian in seem ogling at the singer and is captioned, “Happy birthday, @KatyPerry! It’s time to bring out the big balloons!”

The tweet clearly didn’t go down well with her fans and other Twitterati, who slammed the TV host for being sexist and called her out for having double standards, as recently DeGeneres had openly criticised Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein.
