Walking down stranded streets in the dark has turned into harrowing experiences often for many, especially women. A lot of us know women who have had to rush back home because they did not find themselves safe on the streets, which is why Noa Jansma’s experiences would easily strike a note with many of us. This 20-year-old student from Netherlands decided to take a selfie with each man who has cat-called her and posted their pictures on Instagram. And the results are, well, disturbing to say the least.

Uploaded on the Instagram page called ‘dearcatcallers’, Jansma took pictures with the men while posting the nasty comments they passed on her as captions to the pictures.

While the remarks are disturbing in themselves, the one common factor binding most of these photos together appears to be most unsettling — while some men are smiling gleefully at the camera, others are showing the victory sign and posing away. That is probably indicative of the fact that most of them don’t even realise that they are doing something wrong when they call her these names.

Indianexpress.com has reached out to Jansma and is awaiting her response.
