Facebook stats show that in the span of one year, the Prime Minister has gained 12 million fans on the giant social networking website through 908 posts. His ‘Narendra Modi’ page has been liked overall by 28 million people. It is no secret that the Prime Minister has an efficient social media team, adept in curating photos and videos to complement his status updates. Almost all his foreign state visits find great visibility on Facebook.
His most recent Facebook post is a video that shows him cuddling a baby as he interacts with his admirers in Seoul in South Korea.
Some of the Prime Minister’s most popular posts on Facebook include a picture that he shared during the Swacch Bharat Abhiyan, a campaign that he launched on October 2 with the objective of cleaning the country.
Another popular post is one in which he shared pictures of a ‘chai pe charcha’ with US President Barack Obama.
It has to be noted that PM Modi (28 million) is the second-most followed world leader on Facebook behind US President Barack Obama (43 million). Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan (7 million) and Egypt President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi (4.5 million) are in third and fourth positions.
