Winter is almost here and Christmas is just a month away—naturally preparations for the biggest festival are in full swing around the world. And what better does connote to the festive mood than Santa and his reindeer!
So, as Santa Claus has been delivering our presents riding on his sledge-carriage along with Rudolph—the reindeer for ages, Domino’s has adopted that idea to deliver pizzas! Believe it or not, the company in Japan is training reindeer for delivery in the severe climate this winter.
According to a press release issued by the company, the MET department of the country predicted a severe fall in temperatures during the festive season. To make sure that delivery services are “not hindered by snowfall”, the company “will promote the pizza delivery by reindeer [and has] opened a ‘snowfall delivery measures room’”. The release also added, “Under the guidance of the keepers in the delivery Research Center of Hokkaido toward the full-scale introduction of [it] from December, we are promoting a final adjustment of the safety and operation surface.”
An update about the announcement was again released by the company where it notified that the reindeer would be tracked by able GPS system so that they do not get deviated from their path to delivery. They have also introduced a red-nosed reindeer symbol to track down reindeer’s path on the tracking system for the customers can see.
So, our modern day Rudolph and friends will be spreading smiles with not gifts but by warm-cheesy pizzas. Not pulling sledges, but atop with thermal pizza containers.
Last year Domino’s, a global pizza chain carried out a demonstration to deliver their products using Drones in New Zealand, with an intention to adopt the technique formally.
