Vodafone India under its ongoing Vodafone Delights bonanza has introduced a free 10-minute talk time to customers, whose conversations gets interrupted for any reason, a company statement said. “Each conversation on our network is important and must carry on uninterrupted. At times, however, conversations do get interrupted. To continue such conversations, we are offering 10-minute talk time benefit, no questions asked,” said Sandeep Kataria, Director – Consumer, Vodafone India.
To avail this talk time benefit, customers need to SMS ‘BETTER’ on 199 and talk time of 10 minutes will be credited immediately (within 30 minutes) to their number. This initiative on voice follows close on the heels of the up to 67 per cent data benefit to customers, announced earlier this week. Vodafone has come up with new rates after Idea and Airtel cut their data prices. The 10-minute a user gets is local Vodafone-to-Vodafone, and needs to be used within 24 hours as part of Vodafone Delights month celebration.
Airtel just today, launched unlimited voice-calling for postpaid users in its new ‘myPlan Infinity’ plans that has local, STD, and roaming all included. Airtel’s ‘myPlan Infinity’ combines unlimited voice calling with flexible data benefits, and starts at Rs 1199 for postpaid customers. For Rs 1199, customers will enjoy unlimited voice calling along with 100 SMS per day, 1GB 3G/4G data and free subscription to Wynk Music and Wynk Movies.
The announcement has been one of many the many from major Indian telecom players ahead of the Reliance Jio 4G launch. Reliance Jio launch is expected to cause a massive disruption in pricing for 4G data and voice-calling and according to reports the focus will be on data, rather than VoiceCalls, with Jio packages offering bundling free voicecalls and SMS with data.
