OnePlus has started rolling out Cyanogen OS 13.1 for OnePlus One users in India, which brings Microsoft’s virtual assistant – Cortana. The new update brings a deeper integration for Cortana into the OS. Cortana was introduced to OnePlus with Cyanogen OS 12.1.1 back in January for users in US. This deeper integration of Microsoft’s virtual assistant will allow OnePlus users to use many features that are not possible with Cortana on Android.

Cortana Mod for lock screen and camera comes with the latest update. Cortana will work with search, reminders, and more. Swiping left on the lock screen will allow access to Cortana. You can even search by saying “Hey Cortana” or by clicking on the Mic button.

“We’re happy to announce that we’re launching Cortana in India on Cyanogen OS first. OnePlus One owners running 13.1 in India can now take advantage of all of the awesome features available from Cortana,” Cyanogen said in a blog post.

You can even command to Cortana to “Take a Selfie”. This will automatically open the camera app and a timer starts counting down, allows for a more hands off access and makes for less camera shake. The update will automatically start rolling out to OnePlus One users, but all it needs is Wi-Fi connectivity.

OnePlus has decided to merge its Oxygen OS and Hydrogen OS, according to an XDA Developers report. While the Oxygen OS is available on the company’s smartphones for global users, the Hydrogen OS is targeted at customers in China.
