From creating your own dinosaurs to shooting terminators – this week’s top 5 games offers unabashed fun and much more. Here’s our pick of this week’s top games on mobile:

Jurassic World: The Game

Jurassic World has just hit the theatres and Dinosaur frenzy has already taken over the world. This strategy simulator lets you design your own Dinosaur-theme park, create and breed menacing beasts and if things get too boring, pit one dinosaur against other in a fight to death.

Don’t be fooled by the minuscule download size (only 12 MB), because once you download it, the game will ask you to download an expansion pack of 288 MB or more. However, this is how most mobile games are designed nowadays.

Look past the expanded download and you got yourself a game that is teeming with activities and is bound to keep you engaged for hours on end. You have to explore the map given to you thoroughly to acquire dinosaur card packs, which lets you collect, hatch and develop your dinosaurs.

Ian Malcolm (played by Jeff Goldblum) had warned us in the first movie of the franchise when he said, “God creates dinosaurs. God destroys dinosaurs. God creates man. Man destroys God. Man creates dinosaurs.” Well, “Jurassic World: The Game” lets you play God and it is incredibly fun.

Since we are riding high on movie-based games, lets talk about the next Hollywood biggie set to hit the screens – Terminator Genisys. You don’t have to wait till early July to get a glimpse of T-800 robots, as Glu has come out with the official Terminator game for your mobile.

This third person shooter relies heavily on combat inspired from tried and tested titles like Commando and Contract Killer. All you need to do is take cover behind obstacles, aim at the advancing enemies and fire, fire, fire. Tip for those playing the game: if you want to survive, simply shoot at anything that moves.

Avid action gamers might not complain, but it gets a little repetitive for others. However, there is a huge arsenal of weapons and hordes of enemies to shoot at, which tips the scales in the game’s favour.

Everything said, it is actually fun to shoot at the heads of grinning metal robots and watch them burst into pieces.

After the wildly popular Dude Perfect, Miniclip has come up with Dude Perfect 2, which manages to be even crazier than its predecessor. The goal is simple. You have to wreck as much havoc as you can, and all you get to do is dunk a basketball.

The game’s mechanics is very similar to arcade shooters like Angry Birds and Stupid Zombies. You aim with your on-screen arrow, fill up the power meter and shoot the ball at wacky obstacles and levers. In the process walls collapse, cars explode and general mayhem ensures. This game is a lot of fun once you get a hold of the controls.

When you play Guncat, you can’t help but remember Duck Hunt, the hugely popular arcade shooter, which let you shoot flying birds before they escaped the screen. Guncat infuses the same shooting frenzy with cute characters and vibrant colour palettes that made games like Angry Birds and Candy Crush hugely popular.

Even the story is quirky, to say the least. Our hero, the cat is sleeping peacefully when he gets disturbed by scores of chirpy birds. As any other cat would probably do, he pulls out a huge gun (bigger than the cat) and starts shooting at them. Only a regular day in a Guncat’s life, right?

The levels are short but incredibly tense. The pressure builds up as you progress through the game, but there are a number of upgrades which changes the way you play the game every time. So, if you are bored with Angry Birds and want to try something new, you should definitely try out Guncat.

One More Line (OML) is easily one of the best puzzles available for smartphone. However with most sequels, developers tend to disappoint as all they do is add a few more upgrades, a new soundtrack and leave it at that.

With OMD, the developers have proved me wrong. OMD is built on the same skeleton laid by its predecessor, but in no way are the two games similar. OMD urges you to go up the screen by connecting with handles and dots, instead of going round in circles and waiting for the perfect angle to hop on to the next handlelike OML did.

OMD players have to escape obstacles and make it to the next goal before time runs out. OMD is a lot faster and hence is a way more challenging than the previous title. As I said, OMD is built on the same foundation as OML, so the graphics and overall game treatment remains the same, so it doesn’t feel like you are playing an entirely different game.

One More Dash is a must-try for all puzzle lovers out there. If you haven’t played One More Line, don’t worry. One More Dash won’t disappoint. Rather, you may stumble across your next addiction.
