The next time you hit the road with Google Maps, chances are you will avoid traffic jams at most of the places. Google has updated Maps to decide the best possible route for its users based on traffic jams to avoid delays. Google, in a blog post announced the latest update for Android and iOS.

“Luckily, Google Maps can help you find the most ideal route to your destination with the least delays. Just in time for you to hit the road, we’ve updated Google Maps with new traffic alerts to help you avoid jams,” Google said.

Google says that users will automatically get an update on their devices. Google Maps will provide users with traffic alerts on the go so, helping them decide the quickest route to their destinations. “While you’re on the road, Google Maps will give you a heads up if congestion lies ahead, and how long you’ll be stuck in a jam,” says Google.

Also, Google Maps will give users various options for alternate routes and explanations for its recommendations. It will tel users, whether the route suggested by it is the fastest or only avoids traffic. Real time traffic updates for Google Maps was launched in the US some time back and will now be available for India users.
