We finally have the first leak hinting at some kind of VR from Google directly. Google is all set to host its annual developer conference on May 18 and just days ahead of it, we have got a glimpse of Android VR option in the Android Developer Console.

Google I/O 2016 returns to Mountain View on May 18 and the company CEO Sundar Pichai has tons of things to share. There is already Android N in the offering along with improvements to Android Auto and Android Wear.

With Android VR, Google would like to steal all the limelight from Oculus, HTC Vive and Samsung Gear VR. Google’s very own cardboard has been VR entry point for many users. With Android VR, Google could announce even bolder ambitions in the virtual world.

The changelog first spotted by Android Police hints at a new Android VR platform or it could be a new device altogether. Google’s I/O schedule is full of VR session adding fuel to the rumour of imminent Android VR platform launch.

While its not very clear what Google is up to but I/O 2016 does promise to add new flavours to Android ecosystem.
