Xolo Black, the launch of which was first reported by IndianExpress.com, is finally coming our with its first smartphone on July 10.
While invites are out for the launch event in Delhi, no details are available on the phone. It is expected that the phone will be available only on Flipkart.
Black is an online-only made-in-india sub-brand from Xolo, the smartphone-only brand from Lava International.

Vishal Sehgal, Co-founder, LAVA International had earlier told IndianExpress.com that since almost 90 per cent of e-commerce sales are concentrated in the top 30-odd cities, Xolo decided it was time they too looked at an online only play.
“We decided that our sweet spot would be in being an experience value brand that resonates with the tech savvy audience instead of specs-price ratio brands that works at face value and struggles in the long run,” he said.
With the Black portfolio, Sehgal said, the company wants to focus on the camera, the design ID, audio quality and battery life. Since the invite has the hashtag #DonoAankhenKholo were are guessing the first phone will offer a dual camera experience. This will most probably mean 13MP cameras on both sides.
“Shegal had said the first phone, to be priced below Rs 15,000, will try and give users the best dual rear-camera experience in that price range. The subsequent phones will push towards the lower and higher bands.
Meanwhile, Vodafone India has announced that BLACK will be put on demo exclusively at over 100 Vodafone Stores so that customers can experience the phone before buying it on Flipkart. Vodafone customers will also get 1GB free data for two months or unlimited Music Content download with Vodafone Music Application for the same period.
Vivek Mathur, Chief Commercial Officer, Vodafone India said the exclusive demos and in-store experience coupled with additional DATA offers will empower customers with a great value proposition and help them remain connected always.
