Pokémon GO has only been launched in 30 countries till now, but that did not stop users from other countries from downloading the game from the app stores of countries where it is already available – everyone except Windows Phone users. The free-to-play AR game is available for iOS and Android devices. With only 2.6 per cent market share, Windows Phone devices have been left out by Niantic, but Microsoft Portugal might have hinted the games arrival to Windows on their Facebook page.
Facebook Portugal made this informal revelation over a comment to a user’s post. Here’s the text-
The application will be home soon, which refers to the windows phone store.
Team Microsoft Portugal
Microsoft Portugal eventually retracted its comment, and posted a new comment which said:
Dear fans, we apologize if the comment published previously you induced in error. We have actually received requests for this application will be available for windows phone. The store windows is evaluating options to satisfy this request in the best possible way. We promise to keep you abreast of any developments.
There has been no official confirmation of Pokémon Go for Windows Phone yet, and the retraction of this comment suggests that it might take a while.
Even though Pokémon Go hasn’t been launched in India, it is already running on millions of iOS and Android devices already. The official launch of the game in India still does not have a date.
