For game developers, it is now mandatory to bring out a game every time a Hollywood blockbuster is set to release. More often than not, the games turn out to be a dud, leaving the gamers desiring for more. Glu’s Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation plays it’s cards right by delivering a game which is heavily based on the upcoming Tom Cruise film, but based on a story that is very different from the series.

Rogue Nation is all that you can expect out of a Mission Impossible game – it’s sleek, it’s thrilling and it’s loaded with bullets and explosions. The Mission Impossible theme music sure adds to the fun. The gameplay is heavily based on adventure shooters like the Contract Killer and Commando series. But, well-edited cut-scenes and a good plot makes the game stand out of the crowd. You also get to set up your own IMF base, where you can play co-op with other players, combine resources and defend or take on other bases at your will.

Created with Unity, MI: Rogue Nation looks stunning on a tablet and is sure to satisfy the trigger happy shooter fans out there. Only one drawback, we wish we could play as Tom ‘Ethan Hunt’ Cruise himself.

Zombies, run!

Zombies, run! is not essentially a game. It’s more of a running app. However, it is the quirkiest running app we have laid our hands upon. When you go out running, turn on the app, put on your headphones and in no time you will hear hordes of zombies growling and groaning towards you and the only to avoid them is, you guessed it right, run!

You need to try this app to truly feel how real the zombies sound like. You can also turn on ‘Chase mode’, which will force you to run faster and win over the zombies.

The app provides you stories and missions every time you run. Dynamic radio messages and chatters help unfold the stories as you unlock more levels and challenges. You can set up imaginary bases on your running track, and you must keep your base stocked up with supplies strewn over your path. This is player immersion at its best.

So, next time you go out for a run, why not make it a little bit more interesting (and scary) by trying out Zombies, Run!

Mountain Goat Mountain might be the most challenging arcade you lay your hands on. Like other arcades, the goal is simple – you must help the goat climb up the mountain. The mountains are shaped in the form of a stepped pyramid, riddled with obstacles that can squash you and puzzles that will challenge you. This game is designed to hook you for hours.

The gameplay reminded us of a lot like the Indie horror, ‘Catherine’, but looks and plays a lot better than many other games out there. Play it on your phone, play it on your tablet, this is recommended for all puzzle lovers out there.

Play long enough and you get to recruit legends like Alexander and Napoleon, or construct a pyramid or even a Statue of Liberty.
