MobiKwik has announced its partnership with Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) for e-cash payments for tatkal bookings. According to MobiKwik, tatkal online receives over a thousand ticket bookings per minute and e-cash payments is supposed to facilitate the process. The company adds that on an average, over 15 per cent daily ticket bookings for Indian Railways happen under tatkal. The service is available at http://www.services.irctc.co.in and users can book their tickets between 8 am-12 pm daily.
“MobiKwik collaborated with Indian Railways to digitize payments on the IRCTC app and IRCTC FoodOnTrack app this year, and now we are powering payments for tatkal online, that will help users book tickets almost instantly. To book a tatkal ticket via MobiKwik, users will have to preload their wallet with money using netbanking, credit/debit card or cash loading. MobiKwik has cash pick up service in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Surat and Jaipur.
MobiKwik had earlier announced the launch of UPI (Unified Payments Interface) on its platform. UPI allows users to transfer money across different banks via single identification and password. The company already has options of netbanking, credit and debit card as well as exclusive cash pick up and cash deposit service for wallet loading. Users now have an additional option for real time wallet loading with UPI. E-cash facility can be used at over 100000 online and offline merchants across India,” Mrinal Sinha, Chief Operating Officer at MobiKwik said.
