Facebook Lite has reached 100 million monthly active users globally. The app has achieved this feat in less than nine months of its launch.

Facebook Lite was launched for devices that run lower spec hardware and use slower 2G data connection. Facebook Lite now supports more than 50 languages and has an install size of less than 1MB.

Facebook says the lite version of its social networking app has been rolled out in more than 150 countries across Latin America, Asia, Africa, and parts of Europe. Facebook is also adding support for video, multiple photo uploads, pinch to zoom for photos and emojis.

Facebook Lite was introduced in June 2015 and is available from Google’s Play Store.
