Xiaomi Mi Max a new phablet device, is all set to launch in Beijing on May 10, according to a latest Weibo post from the company. Xiaomi’s post also mentions that the event will be held at the Beijing National Convention Centre, and there will be tickets on sale for fans to attend the event.
Xiaomi’s had earlier given a quick glimpse of the Mi Max on its Weibo page, where the phone is seen inside a jeans pocket. Now the Mi Max is supposed to be phablet with a big 6.4-inch display, but according to the picture it will fit inside a jeans pocket as well. We’ll have to wait and see how that happens.
GFXBenchmark scores of the Mi Max have also leaked online earlier revealing a full HD 6.4-inch display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 six-core processor clocked at 1.8Ghz, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage space, and a 16 megapixel rear camera along with 5 megapixel front camera. It will run Android 6.0.1.
Other leaked pictures have also indicated a front panel design similar to the Xiaomi Mi 5 with a ceramic home-button that could house the fingerprint scanner as seen in the flagship device.
Some reports have also claimed that Mi Band 2 will also launch at the event after Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun was spotted wearing the same. Check out that picture here. The Mi Band 2 could come with an OLED display.
We’ll have to wait and what Xiaomi reveals on May 10 other than the Mi Max phablet.
