Sony has launched its Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact ahead of IFA 2014 in Berlin. Sony claims it to be world’s slimmest and lightest waterproof compact tablet. It sports an 8-inch Full HD TRILUMINOS screen with Live Colour LED technology and X-Reality for mobile and intuitive contrast enhancement. The tablet is 6.4mm thin and weighs 270 grams. It’s also the only tablet that comes with PS4 Remote Play support.

With PS4 Remote Play, exclusive to Xperia, users can now use the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact as a remote screen to connect to and control games on PS4. For those times when the TV is being used, simply connect your tablet to your PS4 via home Wi-Fi and use the DUALSHOCK 4 Wireless Controller with the GCM10 Game Control Mount to continue playing games anywhere at home on the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.

Additionally the PlayStation App allows users to use the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact as a second screen to remotely watch the game play of others and communicate with PSN friends, purchase PS4 games and download to PS4, or simply to control PS4.

Based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 Quad-core 2.5 GHz processor with 3GB RAM and Qualcomm Adreno 330 GPU, Sony claims to deliver 13 hours of high quality video playback from the battery. The tablet comes with an 8.1MP rear camera with Exmor RS sensor and 2.2MP front-facing HD chat camera.
