Samsung Galaxy Note 7, Samsung, Samsung Note 7 India replacement, Samsung Galaxy Note 7 India availability, Galaxy Note 7 replacement India, Samsung smartphone, US govt, Samsung Galaxy Note 7 on flights, smartphones, tech news, technology “In lieu of the Galaxy Note 7 Pre-book offer, we would like to provide you an exclusive Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 Edge offer.”

Samsung India will give out Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 edge smartphones to those customers who had pre-booked the Galaxy Note 7, production of which has been stopped after the phone was found to be prone to overheating and catching fire. Samsung had opened pre-bookings for the Galaxy Note7 in India in the last week of August, and the phone was supposed to go on sale in the beginning of September. However, that never happened as Samsung was forced to recall the phone on September 2 in markets where it had gone on sale due to reports of fires, explosions during to overheating.

Samsung’s replacement Galaxy Note 7 phones haven’t done too well either and now the company has decided to end production of the device. It still has not been able to figure out what is causing the overheating/fires on the Galaxy Note 7. However, while Samsung has been offering replacements/credits to customers in the US, South Korea, etc, there was no information on the status for India consumers who had pre-booked the phone, even for those who had ordered from the official Samsung India estore. Now the company says it will be offering the option of an S7/S7 edge to those who had pre-booked the Note7.

Samsung in a statement on its website said, “Please accept our sincere apologies for not being able to deliver your loved Galaxy Note 7, and the inconvenience this has caused you. We thank you for your love and passion for Samsung Mobiles and are deeply touched by the support received from you. In lieu of the Galaxy Note 7 Pre-book offer, we would like to provide you an exclusive Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 Edge offer.”

It seems customers who had pre-booked and paid full amount of Rs 59,990 for the Note 7, will now have to settle for the S7/S7 edge. Samsung is also giving the new Gear VR, the Level U – Stereo Wireless Headset free for these customers. Samsung will also give an Oculus VR content voucher worth Rs 3,300 approximately $50 to these customers. In addition to this, customers will get a One Time Screen Replacement for a period of 12 months from date of activation, although there are some terms and conditions applicable on this as well.

Samsung has asked users in India to visit the retailer or online portal from where they had pre-booked the Galaxy Note7 to avail the above offer. Those who don’t want the S7/S7 edge can get the full refund of the pre-booking amount from the online portal or the retailer where they had signed up for pre-bookings.

Recent reports have shown how consumers who had booked the Note 7 in India have had no word from the company on delivery status. Some of them had paid the full amount of Rs 59,900 on EMI, without the product getting delivered for well over two months. While Samsung was busy dealing with the recall crisis on a global scale, there was no word on what would happen to those in India who had pre-booked the phone. Note as a brand has always had loyalists, who upgrade regularly to new versions of the phone. Now with the Note 7 standing cancelled, it remains to be seen if these people will be happy to go with the S7/ S7 edge or instead just switch smartphone brands altogether.

Pre booked a note 7 , but have been offered to buy a s7 edge and with vr,bluetooth headset and vr apps, but iam a huge fan of note series and have not used other phones other than note from the time it came into existence, now it would be great for Samsung if they offer the pre booked customers with the same goodies when they come out with the next note series.lt;br/gt;Heard Korean customers can take s7 and can upgrade it with note8 with 50 % off next year when the phone arrives as per YouTube news.

Too late Samsung India. It took you 2 months to give a response to Samsung users like me in India. Looks like we are taken for granted. So S7 Edge am sure would not work on Nougat.. that will take another 5 months am sure and yeah why do US customers get responses and recalls so soon. SAMSUNG INDIA hate the customer care and whats the point coming up with stupid offers and actually letting people know that Samsung India actually exists. Samsung India seems more like the underpriveleged cluster of Samsung which is not taken care of or is there for a namesake. Sorry but this seems to be a reality. Dissapointing!!! No retailer has had no word from you guys over the past two months! You just lost a loyal customer.

Bought a samsung s7 edge paying 55k of hard earned money in mid september 2016. Within one week it had small hit on the edge of a table. That is it, screen broke easily. There is no one time replacement for phones bought before October 1. So now I have to pay close to 20k for screen replacement. Anyone buying the edge 7 please be cautious that it is very easy to break owing the peculiar screen design and samsung is going to milk the customers. lt;br/gt;Already tasted the bitter pie since I had to replace the note 2 screen twice (each time shelved 7.5 K). Still based on b loyalty I bought the edge. This is going to be last samsung mobile in my life and swear never to touch any samsung product again.
