Reliance Lyf F8 launched at Rs 4,199: Key specifications and features

Reliance’s LYF brand for mobiles has launched a new budget 4G VoLTE smartphone called Lyf F8. The Lyf F8 phone will come with the Reliance Jio Preview offer of free internet data, voice, SMS services, etc. Lyf F8 is priced at Rs 4,199 and it can be purchased from Reliance Digital Stores, or Xpress Digital Mini Stores.

In terms of specifications, the Lyf F8 smartphones comes with a 4.5-inch display with FWVGA resolution at 480 x 854 pixels which is comes to 218 ppi. The Lyf F8 phone has an IPS LCD display with AGC glass for protection against scratches. The processor is Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 MSM8909 clocked with Adreno 304 GPU clocked @ 400MHz.

Lyf F8 has 1GB RAM and up to 8 GB storage which is expandable to 128 GB via microSD card. It has an 8MP rear camera with auto focus and LED flash, and there’s also a 5MP front camera. The camera is capable of recording at 720p and both have digital zoom of up to 6X supported.

The battery is 2000 mAh with up to 8 Hours of battery life being promised on 4G and five hours of HD video playback. The standby time is up to 160 hours. Video Recording : 720p @ 30 FPS

The dimensions of the Lyf F8 are 132.6mm x 66.2mm x 9.3mm and it weighs 138 g. It also has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS, micro USB 2.0 and USB OTG. Sensors on the Lyf F8 are: Ambient Light Sensor, Accelerometer, Proximity Sensor. It also supports motion to gesture like: Flip to Mute, Double Tap to Wake, Slide up to unlock, Slide down to open camera, etc. The Reliance Lyf phone runs Android Marshmallow.

In a recent report, a customer claimed his Reliance Lyf phone exploded and burst into flames. However, Reliance said it was investigating the issue.
