Following Qualcomm’s announcement of a new OnePlus device on the way, OnePlus has finally confirmed that a new device is going to be launched soon featuring the Snapdragon 821 SoC. The device will be launched on November 15 with the company noting the ‘T-7′ counter shared in a video on its Facebook page yesterday.
OnePlus’ announcement reads as “T-7: The Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 (2.35GHz) is coming your way. Find out more on November 15.” Even while OnePlus hasn’t officially announced the name of the device, an earlier post made by a OnePlus designer on Weibo has said that it will be called the OnePlus 3T.
OnePlus 3T is going to be a slight upgrade to the already available OnePlus 3, which has long been rumoured to be coming with a Snapdragon 821 SoC. The phone is also expected to come with Android 7.0 Nougat running out of the box, while also coming with Sony’s IMX398 16MP camera sensor.
Noted tipster Evan Blass has shared in a tweet that the OnePlus 3T will be priced $80 more than the original device. This means that the new phone could be launched at a price of $479 (approx Rs 32,000).
The launch of the phone will be on Facebook Live, and will be starting on November 15 at 1pm EST.
The original OnePlus 3 was launched at Rs 27,999 (as an Amazon exclusive) in India mid-2016. The phone comes with a quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor, along with an Adreno 530 GPU. It features 6GB RAM and 64GB of onboard storage.
There have also been reports of the OnePlus 4 that is expected to launch in mid-2017. It is expected to be running on a Snapdragon 830 chipset, and come with a 4,000 mAh battery (25 per cent more than the OnePlus 3).
