OnePlus has announced in its forum that it will be rolling out an update for the OnePlus 2 enabling VoLTE support on the device. All of the OnePlus devices in India – OnePlus One, OnePlus 2, OnePlus X, and OnePlus 3 supports 4G LTE, but only the OnePlus 3 comes with the VoLTE enabled out of the box.
The company has noted that it is working on enabling VoLTE support for their previous flagship devices via an OTA update. This update is set to bring VoLTE support for the OnePlus 2 in the next quarter. The company however expressed no plans on VoLTE support coming to the remaining two devices in their lineup – OnePlus One and OnePlus X. These phones will still support Jio4GVoice app. This will help users experience enhanced call quality on the Jio network.
In OnePlus’s online forum, a staff member said,”For those who In line with rolling out new products, services and features for the holiday season, we have one more good news to share with our fans, and that is about VoLTE support on our flagship devices. We’ve been keeping a close eye on forum discussions and noted the requests to enable VoLTE (Voice over LTE) or HD calling support on OnePlus smartphones.”
“Over last several months, we have been closely collaborating with all telecom partners to enable a full repertoire of upcoming technologies and services including VoLTE out of the box on our latest flagship device, the OnePlus 3,” the staffer added.
OnePlus 2 has recently started receiving the OxygenOS 3.1.0 update that brings in fixes for notification issues, improved Doze Mode performance, Quadrooter patch, and general bug fixes.
