Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat started rolling out for devices a few days ago, starting with Nexus-branded devices. However, the update was not made available for Nexus 9 LTE at that time. Now, according to a report in Android Police, Nexus 9 LTE has finally started receiving Android Nougat update as well.
Though Nexus 9 LTE users who enrolled themselves in the Android N Beta Program had received the update about a month back; it has now been launched for those didn’t and are still on Android Marshmallow OS. The report adds that updating your Nexus 9 LTE will bring your build number to NRD90R. And the build number looks the same build that was rolled out for beta testers a few weeks back.

Android 7.0 Nougat is a significant update over Marshmallow. It adds new design elements to notifications. The single major update with Android 7.0 Nougat is the split-screen multitasking feature. Android N also offers a new notifications panel with quick access to standard features like WiFi, Bluetooth, et cetera. There is also new bundled notifications which give access to notifications from same app in the form of thread. Android N also adds Direct Reply feature which basically allows users to reply directly from within the notification panel.
