Microsoft Lumia 550 has been launched in India for Rs 9,399 and the phone will go on sale starting December 23. Microsoft’s India website still lists the Lumia 550 as coming soon, but the company has confirmed the pricing.
Microsoft Lumia 550 with 4G LTE is the cheapest smartphone to run the latest Windows 10 OS for mobile. It was launched globally in early December at a price of $139 (around Rs 9277).
Lumia 550 features a 4.7-inch HD screen (16:9, 1280×720, 315 ppi). It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 (MSM8909) 1.1 GHz quad-core processor, five-megapixel rear camera with auto-focus f/2.4 with LED Flash and a two megapixel front camera.
Lumia 550 has 1GB RAM, 8GB mass memory and microSD slot (upto 200 GB supported). It comes in matte black and glossy white, and this is a 4G LTE ready smartphone.
Microsoft recently launched the Lumia 950, 950 XL in India starting at prices of Rs 43,699 and Rs 49,399.
The Lumia 550 does not support the Continuum feature that we’ve seen in the two top-end Lumia phones. Continuum feature lets users run apps on Lumia phones on a full screen on PC, when connected the device is connected to a supported Display Dock.
