Meizu has officially launched its m3 note smartphone in India. The budget smartphone is Chinese company’s effort to offer a big screen, and battery smartphone to Indian consumers at a mid-range pricing. The smartphone is priced at Rs 9,999 and will be exclusively available on Amazon India and users will need to register to buy the smartphone.
Meizu m3 note competes directly with Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 3 and LeEco Le 1s. All the three devices feature metal unibody design, while m3 note and Redmi Note 3 have a bigger 4100mAh battery.
Here is how the three devices stack up against each other in terms of just specs.
Meizu m3 note: Meizu m3 note features a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920x1080p) display with Dinorex scratch-resistant glass for protection. Meizu m3 note is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6755 Helio P10 processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage.
Meizu m3 note also comes with expandable storage up to 128GB, but uses dual-SIM hybrid slot for memory card. The dual-SIM device accepts nano-SIM, and has dual standby mode. On the camera front, Meizu m3 note gets a 13MP rear camera paired with 5MP front camera. Meizu m3 note basically builds on all that we loved about its predecessor m2 note and smaller sibling m2.
The Meizu m3 note is just 8.2mm thick and weighs 163 grams. It runs Flyme UI based on Android 5.1 Lollipop and is backed by a 4100mAh battery. It will be available in Gray, Silver and Gold colour variants.
LeEco Le 1s (Eco): Le 1s has a stylish aluminium design, a fingerprint scanner on back, 3GB RAM, and 32 GB storage space. The price is Rs 10,999 and Le 1s is Flipkart exclusive. LeEco has also launched another version of the Le 1s called Le 1s Eco, which costs Rs 9,999 and comes with the same specs. The first sale sale for the Eco version starts on May 12 on Flipkart.
The Eco version has a LeEco Membership worth Rs 4900 for one year bundled with this smartphone. Users get access to Levidi app which has movies in over 10 different languages, along with Eros Now Movies on Demand, and live TV channels powered by YuppTV. The subscription also gives users access to 5-TB LeEco Drive cloud storage service.
Le 1s has a full HD display, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage space and LeEco is also promising 5TB of free cloud storage for one year.
In our review, we liked the general performance of the smartphone, although it does heat up at times. It has a type-C USB charging port as well. In a separate one month review, we had however pointed out that there were network connectivity issues with the Le 1s, which users should keep in mind.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3: Redmi Note 3 is one of the best options in the market right now. The flash sale is on Amazon and Mi.com website, every Wednesday. Amazon sale requires users to register before flash sale.
It has a vivid and crisp, full HD display for its price-range, works smoothly and comes with a 4050 mAh battery, which will last more than a day and half, even with heavy usage. We felt that the camera was a weak point for Redmi Note 3, even though it works okay in daylight.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 also comes in a 3GB RAM and 32GB storage space but that costs Rs 11,999. Redmi Note 3 has a fingerprint scanner on the back. Xiaomi has given this one an premium all-metal body design.
