Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus launch tonight, and there’s still some speculation over whether Cupertino will stick with these names or go for iPhone 6SE. However, it looks like iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will be the final names, as these were spotted on the Apple website in Hong Kong.
A Reddit user Jaspergreenham posted screenshots of the website and pointed out he spotted the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus listed on the accessories page. On the headphones accessory page, the slider on the left, which lists out all the devices for compatibility mentions the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus on the company’s Hong Kong website.
According to Jaspergreenham, he was browsing for Apple accessories and spotted the feature. His post reads, “Looks like Apple is already ready to roll out the iPhone 7 online… (Listing has iPhone 7 & 7 Plus, was not able to replicate, tried multiple times.)” Of course, all traces of iPhone 7 have been removed from the Apple website for now, but the screenshot is being widely shared.
There are quite a few comments on Reddit, with some claiming this is a fake screenshot, but it doesn’t look like it. Plus let’s note, the screenshot just shows the names of the new iPhones, nothing else was revealed.
Apple’s iPhone 7 event takes place tonight at 10.30 pm IST and it will be streamed live for all iOS, Mac users to view on the Safari browser. Apple’s event is in San Francisco at the Bill Graham Auditorium.
The new iPhone 7 series is expected to have a similar design as the iPhone 6s series, although Apple is expected to make some crucial changes. For instance, the headphone jack will be gone from the iPhone 7 series. The iPhone 7 Plus is expected to come with dual rear cameras which will offer a better low-light performance and more professional-level images. Apple iPhone 7 series is also expected to come in a black colour option as well and will be water-resistant.
Apple is also expected to showcase the Apple Watch 2 at the event, and announce release dates for the new iOS 10 and MacOS Sierra software.
