Intex has announced the launch of its latest budget smartphone, Aqua Strong 5.1 in India. With Aqua Strong 5.1, the fourth largest smartphone maker is expanding its already vibrant budget offerings.

Intex Aqua Strong features a 5-inch display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. Under the hood of Aqua Strong 5.1, there is a 1GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage. The internal storage is further expandable up to 32GB. Intex Aqua Strong 5.1 is 9.47mm thick and weighs 150 grams. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2 as opposed to Asahi glass find in this price range.

Intex Aqua Strong 5.1 sports a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera. Intex Aqua Strong 5.1 is backed by a 2,800mAh battery and comes preloaded with apps like Saavn, Opera Max, Clean Master, etc.

Intex Aqua Strong 5.1 also supports Jio’s Welcome Offer making it readily compatible with 4G networks. Reliance Jio offers unlimited data and voice service till December 31 under its Welcome Offer. There is also access to host of Jio Apps for entertainment, music, video streaming, etc.

According to IDC’s latest figures, Intex has managed to retain its fourth position in the smartphone markets covering the top 30 cities. The IDC report states that Intex’s volume has declined by 4.6 per cent in the smartphone space.

Intex has been focusing on the sub Rs 5,000 and Rs 10,000 price segment and now the company is adding just another smartphone to the list of offerings. Intex Aqua Strong 5.1 will be available across retain outlets at Rs 4,999.
