It is finally here. Opera has launched its popular iPad browser Coast for iPhone too.

The Coast browser is a completely different take on mobile browsers and lets users pin websites likes apps on the homepage of the browser. The app is also much more intuitive than an average browser and lets users just swipe to bring up earlier pages. However, it was limited to the iPad.

“I was never quite happy with how apps and browsers kind of got in the way of the content. With Opera Coast, we have made content the main star of the show, letting the browser app itself get out of the way when you just want to kill some time. It’s the way the web was meant to be enjoyed,” said Huib Kleinhout, Product Manager on the Opera Coast project at Opera Software.

Coast is different for it has been ‘made for thumbs’. In other words, this browser has been thought of as a solution for touchscreen and gestures take care of practically all of the navigation needs. You have just two buttons in the entire app to deal with.
