India has always been obsessed with the pricing of Apple phones. So there is a lot of heartburn about the pricing and news of any hike will always generate eyeballs. But has Apple bumped up prices of the iPhone 6s, 6 after the launch of the iPhone SE in India? Does it now want parity between online and offline prices, given that online thrives on discounts?
If you go by the official pricing on the Apple India website, there is no change in the price. iPhone 6s series starts at Rs 62,000 for 16GB, going up all the way to Rs 82,000 for 128GB model, while the iPhone 6s Plus series starts at Rs 72,000, going up all the way to Rs 92,000 for 128GB.
iPhone 6 is priced at Rs 52,000 for 16GB and Rs 62,000 for the 64GB, while iPhone 6 Plus costs Rs 62,000 and iPhone 6 Plus 64GB has a price tag of Rs 72,000. The official Apple India website does not list the 128GB model of the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, even though some online stores still have it in stock.
The newly launched iPhone SE starts at Rs 39,000 (16GB) and Rs 49,000 for 64GB.
Apple even has corporate leasing options (available only for corporate groups, not individuals) and users can get iPhone SE at Rs 999, iPhone 6 at Rs 1,199 and iPhone 6s at Rs 1,399 per month under the scheme. But again, your company needs to sign up for this plan. It is available for iPads as well.

In India, Apple has five official distributors: Ingram Micro, Reddington which is believed to the biggest, Brighstar, Rashi Peripherals and Optiemus Group. Users might find a difference between the online and offline pricing of the iPhone, and that’s something we’ve seen continue with the latest Apple phones for sometime.
Let’s not forget that MRP of the iPhone in India has a dollar-buffer rate included in it, which is why it is on the higher side. However, contrary to reports, discounts are still available online. In fact, soon after the iPhone SE launch, Prateek Hak, National Business Head for Apple Mobility Business at Rashi Peripherals, had IndianExpress.com us that the iPhone 6 price will rebound. At that point, in late March, the 16GB iPhone 6 was priced Rs 33,999 in most online stores.
So don’t bet on the price difference continuing for long. For now here’s a quick look at the online deals:
