Update: A report on Apple blog One More Thing has put out a picture of the supposed 4-inch screen device next to an older iPhone 5. The post says the phone could be called iPhone 6c, although the name can get changed.
In the picture, the new 4-inch iPhone follows the design of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s series with more rounded volume buttons on the side. Check out the full size picture here.
Apple will launch an updated version of the iPhone 5s called iPhone 5se (SE stands for special edition), says a new report on 9to5Mac.
The report also claims that the 4-inch iPhone 6c rumours were fake, and based on its sources, Apple is launching an updated version of the iPhone 5s with a design similar to iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s series.
9to5Mac adds that while the rear and front camera will remain the same as the original iPhone 5s, it will have a new NFC chip for Apple Pay and barometer for tracking elevation in the Health app. The processor will be the A8 from Apple iPhone 6.
It adds that the iPhone 5se is not a reference model for the new iPhone 7, and will have the headphone jack. Numerous reports have claimed that Apple is getting rid of the headphone jack in the iPhone 7 series.
The new upgrade iPhone 5se will also support Live photos like Apple iPhone 6s series and will have a rose-gold colour option. It won’t have a 3D Touch Display. and could be launched in March or April of 2016.
Earlier reports from Chinese tech blog MyDrivers had claimed that Apple will launch a 4-inch iPhone 6c, which will have exactly the same resolution and size as iPhone 5s. The report also claimed that this will phone will come 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage option.
We’ll have to wait till March to see if Apple does introduce the special edition of the iPhone 5s.
