Alcatel has announced a Shine Lite smartphone at IFA 2016. It comes with a 5-inch (1280×720 pixels) IPS HD display, and carries a glass metal design with a curved 2.5D glass surrounding the metal body of the phone. It also features a fingerprint scanner on the backside.
Shine Lite runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow on a quad-core 1.3GHz processor. It features 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, which will also support a microSD card. The phone is 4G enabled. and has connectivity via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 and Micro USB 2.0. The phone will come in a Single SIM or a Dual SIM dual standby option.
Alcatel Shine Lite features a 13MP rear camera with a dual-tone flash. The front camera on the device is 5MP and features an LED flash. The front shooter has features like Gesture Shot, Face Show, Split Catcher, and Easy Shot. Video is captured in 720p at 30 frames per second, while video playback can be in 1080p at 30 frames per second.
Other features on the device include a G-sensor, GPS with A-GPS, FM, proximity sensor, and a P/L sensor. The phone comes with a 2,460 mAh non-removable Li-ion battery.
Alcatel Shine Lite will be available in three colour choices – Prime Black, Pure White and Satin Gold. The dimensions of the device is 141.5mm by 71.2mm by 7.45mm. It weighs 156 grams.
Recently BlackBerry announced it DTEK 50 smartphone with secure Android version based on Alcatel Idol 4 smartphone. Alcatel which primarily focuses on budget and mid-range smartphones is expanding its OEM business. Alcatel phones already support Reliance Jio 4G SIM in India, though it’s not clear if the new Shine Lite will come to India. The smartphone is priced at 199 Euros, which is around Rs 15,000 approximately.
