We answer all your questions on how to watch the Apple iPhone 7 launch event live, what time it will start in India, and whether you can watch it from your Windows desktop or not. Here are all the top questions on the Apple event answered.

First: When is the new Apple iPhone 7 launch taking place? Also what time?

Apple’s iPhone 7 will be unveiled today,September 7. The event starts at 10.00 am PDT or Pacific Time, which is around 10.30 pm IST for the fans in India. If you’re an Apple fan in India, be prepared to stay up late to watch the new iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus getting launch.

Second: Is it possible to watch a live-stream of the Apple keynote event online? And how?

Apple has always streamed its key events live for all customers and the press to see. The link is at the official Apple.com website. Apple uses its own HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) technology. If you already have an iPhone or any other Apple device, you’re in luck. Users with an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch can watch the live-stream on Safari browser if your device is running iOS 7.0 or later.

For those who have a Mac, Safari 6.0.5 or later on OS X v10.8.5 or later is needed. And Apple TV users can stream the event straight up on their big screen. Apple TV 2nd or 3rd generation with software 6.2 or later, or an Apple TV 4th generation is needed.

Third: I don’t have an Apple device. Can I still watch it live?

Don’t worry. Apple events are no longer exclusive to just the Mac or iOS universe. Apple lets anyone with a PC or tablet running Windows 10 stream the event on their Microsoft Edge browser. So if you have the Windows 10 OS on your PC, open Edge browser, and you should be able to stream the event live. And no, there is no live-stream on YouTube, although Apple does upload the video there later on.

Fourth: Where is the iPhone 7 launch event in 2016?

Apple’s iPhone 7 launch event takes place at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. Bill Graham Center has a capacity of 7,000 people and journalists, analysts and Apple partners from across the world are in San Francisco for the event.

Fifth: So what exactly is Apple launching ?

The biggest expectation from the event is the new iPhone from Apple. This is likely to be called the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, although some leaks and rumours indicate Apple could go with a name like iPhone 6SE (special edition) since they are not changing the design from the 6S. Apple is also expected to showcase the new version of the Apple Watch.

Sixth: What’s expected to be new in the iPhone 7 or the new Apple iPhone?

Apple’s new iPhone will have a dual-rear camera on the Plus version, no headphone jack and will be waterproof. Apple is expected to ditch the 16GB iPhone and the 64GB phone; instead the new iPhone will come in 32,128, and 256GB versions claim the leaks. Apple is expected to make improvements to the iPhone 7 Force Touch Display as well.

And yes, the black iPhone is making a comeback, possibly in two colour options, according to leaks. Of course, Apple could surprise us all at the event with its announcements, but we’ll have to wait for a few hours to know.

Seventh: Is anything else other than the iPhone expected?

Apple iPhone is the highlight of the event, but the Cupertino-tech giant is also expected to showcase a new Apple Watch. The new Apple Watch will run WatchOS 3, and could come with GPS support and better battery life. Leaks have also hinted at new versions of the MacBook Air, but so far it looks unlikely that Apple will unveil this at the event.

Apple will also announce dates for the rollout of the iOS 10, MacOS Sierra, along with the pre-order date for the new iPhone and when it finally goes on sale in the first batch of countries.

And finally: When is the new iPhone coming to India? Will it cost less this time ?

Honestly, there’s no way of confirming this, at least not yet, and India has never been in the first batch of countries where the iPhone launches. Apple is expected to introduce this in India quickly, given the growing importance of the market. Still, don’t expect it before October in India. On pricing, Apple only confirms it for the region when the product is announced. Last year the iPhone 6s series started at Rs 62,000, which raised a lot of questions about the pricing from Cupertino. We’ll have to wait and see how Apple prices it in the US, and separately in India.
