Gionee is days away from launching a new smartphone with a 7000mAh battery, dubbed M2017. The latest teaser that Gionee has released via Weibo suggests that the yet-to-be-announced smartphone will be launched shortly.
According to a post on Weibo (via GizChina), the teaser image released by Gionee shows off the Chinese actress-director couple Xu Fen and Feng Feng Xiaogang, who is seen holding a phone in his left hand. But the teaser does not reveal much about the phone.
Not too long ago, an identical looking smartphone was spotted on the Chinese certification site TENAA, which revealed a lot of new information about the phone. Based on early leaks, the M2017 is likely to be Gionee’s most premium smartphone. The smartphone is said to be feature a dual-camera setup. It will apparently sport 12-megapixel and 13-megapixel sensors with support for 4X optical zoom.
There’s also an 8-megapixel shooter on the front for selfies and video calling. The display is said to feature a 5.7-inch QHD AMOLED dual-curved display having a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. Under the hood will be 1.9-Ghz octa-core processor coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory.
Interestingly, though, the smartphone is likely to come with a leather back cover. Among the highlights, the Gionee-made smartphone is expected to come with a mammoth 7000mAh battery inside. We haven’t seen any smartphone that houses such big battery.
Gionee’s M series has focused on battery, but it looks this phone with a leather back and a 7000mAh battery will be a unique flagship.
