Sony India has unveiled its all new MDR-XB50BS and MDR-XB80BS sports wireless (extra bass) in-ear headphones today. Sony says, “This wireless headphones line-up, comes with uncompromising sound quality, distinct finish, portability with aesthetic design and an urban appeal.” The headphones are being targeted for the sports enthusiasts, and Sony claims are tuned for EDM music that has the best matching tempo.
“These powerful additions to Sony’s wireless in-ear headphones eliminate the hassle of connecting wires. Listening experience becomes much smoother as one can connect their music player, Smartphone or dock via Bluetooth and with one-touch NFC. It also has built in mic for hands free calling,” Sony added in its press statement.
Sony has designed the MDR-XB80BS Bluetooth headphones to be a ear hook style design with a cable adjuster. They are also water resistant and washable, making it easier for users to clean them after excercising. The headphones are claimed to have 7 hours of battery life on a single charge.
The MDR-XB50BS on the other carries an IPX4 splash-proof rating. These headphones are said to have a battery life of 8.5 hours. Both headphones come with a 12mm dynamic driver unit which Sony says ‘produces powerful bass and delivers the right amount of sound pressure without using a lot of power.’
Sony MDR-XB50BS and MDR-XB80BS are available at all Sony Centers and other electronics stores across India. MDR-XB50BS headphones are available in three colours – Red, Blue and Black; and are priced at Rs 5,490. MDR-XB80BS is only available in black and are priced at Rs 10,990.
