Misfit has announced its first real timepiece named Phase. Misfit Phase is the first product from the company which aims to take on the expansive smartwatch market. Misfit Phase is a classic timepiece paired with activity tracker and smartwatch functions.
Phase is the first big product from Misfit, since its acquisition by Fossil almost a year ago. Misfit Phase follows the introduction of Shine 2 and bracelet style Ray fitness tracker. Misfit Phase has an aluminium and stainless steel case and comes with option of either silicone or leather bands. Misfit Phase is not just another smartwatch, it is the one that closely matches a standard watch. Misfit Phase features metallic watch hands and a circular ring around the watch face, which closely mimics a traditional watch.
Misfit Phase, inspite of being dubbed a smartwatch, doesn’t feature a touchscreen display. The watch is analog and features a colour window above the six o’clock hand to deliver notifications. Misfit says notifications are colour coded and are delivered in the form of vibrations. Misfit Phase is capable of tracking steps, distance, calories and sleep. The Misfit app shows sleep metric in the form of light and restful sleep. Misfit Phase features replaceable battery that lasts up to six months. Misfit Phase features two side buttons – one acts as an activity button while other acts as link remote.
The activity button is used for setting alarms and watch calibration, the link button makes it easy to click photos, control music and control Misfit’s Bolt light bulb. The Misfit Phase watches are available in six different colour options starting at $175 for silicone bands and $195 for leather bands.
