European electrical equipment giant Schneider Electric has joined the list of countless brands selling power banks in India. Schneider Electric through its brand APC is offering two power banks with 5,000 mAh and 10,000 mAh capacities at around Rs 2,000 and Rs 3000 respectively.
The 10,000 mAh version offers two charging ports- 1A USB port to charge mobiles and 2.4A USB port to charge tablet PC. The power bank comes with a 1.5A micro USB port for charging. The device has a button LED display to show available battery life at a glance along with a power button on the side. It is accompanied by a short cable.
The APC power bank looks like a portable hard drive. It is bulky and you cannot carry it in your pocket while charging your smartphone. Both the output ports can be used simultaneous to charge two devices. The battery pack doesn’t gets much heated while charging or discharging.
The fully charged power bank can be used to charge a smartphone powered by a 2,500 mAh battery at least twice and can charge a tablet PC once, when used individually. APC 10,000 mAh battery pack takes around 5 hours to get fully charged from zero. It can charge a 3,100 mAh smartphone from 0 to 60% with 40% juice left on it in around two hours.
