Serena dominated Vesnina right from the start as she opened up a four-game lead in the first set.
The world no.1 was on top of her serving game and matched it with equally good returns.
It took Vesnina five games to get on the board and it wasn’t enough as she could win only one more before Serena sealed the opening set 6-2.
Serena continued from where she left in the second set as she was hardly challenged en-route 6-0 win.
“I was really focused today. We have had tough matches before. I was ready.”

The win puts her in the final where she could well play her sister Venus who will be in action later in the day.
