Spain led India 3-0 after the Saturday’s doubles contest and the final day’s matches were a mere formality. But that didn’t make a difference to Sumit Nagal who came in for Saketh Myneni in the first reverse singles rubber and provided a strong fight to Marc Lopez but injury in the latter stages prevented him from winning.
In the final rubber, Ramkumar Ramanathan went down in straight sets 2-6, 2-6 to David Ferrer in a quick contest.
The 5-0 win gets Spain back into the World Group for 2017 with the draw scheduled for September 22.

If you’re one for the rallies from the back of the court, then this match is a treat. Both players with percentage hitting at times but also going all out on the lines. Lopez showing superb movement to go after each and every ball
