Donald Trump has pulled arguably one of the biggest upsets in the history of the United States politics by becoming the 45th President of the country. Trump had taken lead after winning key states of Florida, North Carolina and Ohio. Though the race had remained tight between the Republican and the Democratic candidate, Hillary Clinton, Trump has managed to surpass all expectations and break the early poll predictions. The unexpected surge of Trump has led to an impact on the global economy and the effects are still unknown after Trump makes his way to the White House.

Clinton did manage to secure victories in Washington, Virginia and Colorado, but eventually, Trump bagged the required 271 electoral votes to become the new US President. The rise of the Trump phenomenon might seem shocking to many as people are comparing his escalation to political supremacy similar to that of Brexit which happened earlier in June, 2016.
