Indian boxer Sumit Sangwan (81kg) on Sunday advanced to the pre-quarterfinals of the AIBA World Olympic Qualification tournament after notching up a hard-fought win over eighth seed Juan Carlos Carrillo of Colombia in Baku.

Sangwan shared a photo of him with Olympic champion shooter Abhinav Bindra, who was present during the fight to support the boxer.

The 23-year-old triumphed 2-1 in round of 32 contest against the world No.16, who is a former Youth Olympics silver-medallist.
