In the big contest of the night, South Korea came back from 0-9 down to lead at half time against Bangladesh and that scenario repeated itself in the second half too. Bangladesh retained their lead in the second half before Jang Kun Lee turned the game upside down with a Super Raid and then a touch to flip things from 28-31.

The win means Korea remain unbeaten in the Pool A standings and jump over India with three wins in three matches to post 15 points.

Elsewhere, Thailand made little of Kenya in the first game of the night in Ahmedabad. Khomsan Thongkham and Khunakon Chanjaroen stood out for the Thais with 14 and 10 points respectively to win by 53-21. Kenya faltered with poor raiding and many of their attempts were empty.

First up tonight evening is the Group B contest between Thailand and Kenya. Thailand with five points and Kenya with six after two matches. Both teams have won once and lost once. A win for Kenya and they would climb to second in the table – above Japan. And a win for Thailand would mean they leapfrog Kenya to go level with Japan. However, if Thailand do win by a big margin, they could even jump above Japan. Iran, at the top, have no issues going into this. They are sitting pretty at the top with three wins in three.

It has been a superb show by the Thai skipper Khomsan Thongkham to pick up 14 raid points with a success rate of 76%. Provided good support by Khunakon Chanjaroen who has accumulated 10 points

A minute left into this contest and Thailand have been exceptionally effective tonight. Helped by Kenya’s poor showing with the raids. Way too many empty raids tonight. 53-19

Against the theme of the match, Kenya end the contest with a successful raid but that was too little and way too late. Thailand pay perfect ode to their departed King with a 53-21 win

NEXT UP: Bangladesh vs South Korea. A pivotal contest that could determine the outcome of Pool A and who faces whom in the semi-final. Korea stand second in the table with 10 points – two wins in two games. And a win now could help them jump to the top of the standings (over India who are on 11 points). Bangladesh are fourth in the table and with a win and a loss to their name. Let’s get ready to see if Korea can continue their unbeaten run in the extravaganza.

Sulieman Kabir with a two point raid and the celebrations are pretty fantastic too. A short jump in the air and lands on his feet. Worth going into the gymnastics for that!
