India and South Korea played out a tense semi-final. Although India were the dominant force for much of the match, South Korea took their chances well to not just keep India at bay but also be on the brink of winning the match. India were leading 1-0 in the first quarter and seemed to be on the way to scoring more. The second quarter turned out to be a completely different story with India conceding and South Korea giving them lots of problems.
The third quarter saw South Korea take the match by the scruff of the neck by taking the lead. India responded by attacking relentlessly and breought the game back to level at 2-2. The fourth quarter remained indecisive and the game went into penalty strokes. The penalty strokes were a tense affair and in the end, it was PR Sreejesh’s save that took India to the finals.
