In a game that had no shots on target until the 116th minute, it finished with a thriller. Even though Croatia hit the post one minute, it was Portugal at the other end a few seconds later who scored. Quaresma got the simplest of headers and that was enough to send Portugal into quarters where they face Poland.

CROATIA VS PORTUGAL:

FULL TIME! Portugal through to the quarterfinals after a 1-0 win! They take on Poland.

122′ Vida’s effort is just wide of the target!

120′ Two minutes added on

116′ GOAL!!! Nani’s shot is tame from the left but it finds Ronaldo unmarked on the far post and he produces a save from the Subasic, falls to Quaresma who heads it in!

115′ POST! Perisic’s header hits the underside of the post and it comes off.

113′ CLOSE! Vida jumps over his marker and with no Patricio in sight, had he been on target, it might have been 1-0 Croatia!

First half of extra time is over and no shots on target still. Jeers ring Stade Bollaert-Delelis.

96′ MISSED! Kalinic has a wild whack and his effort is way wide of the target. Small little opening!

EXTRA TIME UNDERWAY: Portugal are going from right to left.

FULL TIME! No shots on target, no goals. 0-0 after 90 minutes. EXTRA TIME!

82′ 82 minutes gone and no shots on target. Another extra time in the offing it seems!

46′ Second half underway!

HALF TIME! Poor first half of football. No real chances for either side.

44′ Seconds to go. Chance for Croatia but Pepe heads it over for a corner.

37′ Portugal producing lots of fancy footwork and one touch passing but not getting anywhere near the goal. Except that Pepe header ofcourse!

25′ CLOSE! Pepe’s header is over the cross bar! Dangerous free kick inside the box and the Portugal defender sends header over the goal

15′ Feel of a knockout game so far. Neither opening up and going for the push
